Halloween is coming, and what could be better than enjoying homemade Halloween shortbread while opting for a healthy recipe? How to Make Healthy Halloween Cookies

Ingredients for 6 people

  • 150 g butternut squash
  • 100 g wholemeal or wholemeal flour
  • 80 g Muscovado sugar
  • 40 g of semi-salted butter
  • 1 egg
  • Orange zest

Preparation steps

Step 1: Preparing the ingredients

Take the butter out at room temperature to soften it. Meanwhile, cook the butternut squash for 30 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C (or steam). Let the squash cool, then make a very smooth purée.

Step 2: Mixing the ingredients

In a bowl, mix the softened butter with the Muscovado sugar until creamy. Then add the wholemeal flour and the butternut squash puree, mixing well with each addition. Then add the orange zest .

Step 3: Add the egg and rest

Finish the preparation by adding the beaten egg. Mix well, then place the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to let it rest.

Step 4: Baking the Halloween shortbread cookies

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Shape the shortbreads using molds or directly on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the shortbreads are lightly browned.
